PTSD

Post Traumatic Stress is a natural and expected response to trauma and can manifest itself in the form of anxiety or terror, depression, nightmares, sleep disturbances, flashbacks, feeling emotionally overloaded, poor eating habits, affect your focus, and become a distraction to your daily living.  Others may feel lonely, isolated, disconnected, numb, and also triggered often, feeling hyper-aware of his/her surroundings (hypervigilant), which can be exhausting.  The sense of who you are may be disrupted and your quality of life may become hindered.  It is possible to experience these symptoms from the time of the traumatic event until years after the trauma took place.  There are many ways to address trauma and eventually heal from it.
