Crisis Resources
If you are experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts or need emergency medical care, please dial 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency room. You may also reach out to the following crisis resources:
National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline – 988:
The first resource to become familiar with is the national suicide and crisis lifeline. As of July 16th, 2020, the number 988 became live. Previously, the only number available was 1-800-273-TALK (8255). The longer number will continue to function indefinitely alongside 988 as a number one can dial to reach the lifeline; however, 988 is available as a faster option one can dial in order to reach a suicide prevention specialist.
If you are in crisis, whether or not you are thinking about harming yourself, please call 1-888-273-8255. This phone line is not only for suicidal thoughts. You may call for help with a variety of resources during or after a crisis has ended.
The National Domestic Violence Hotline:
Highly trained advocates are available 24/7 to talk confidentially with anyone experiencing domestic violence, seeking resources or information, or questioning unhealthy aspects of their relationship.
